Subtle Existences in Faces Unseen
Welcome to the Myndful Gallery!
Here, I invite you to explore my 'non-traditional' approach to traditional portraiture. In the following works, I wanted to challenge myself by venturing beyond conventional portrait standards by omitting facial features, focusing instead on the subtle details that define a person's existence—like the clothes one wears, the interplay of light and shadow on their form, and the colors and backgrounds that shape their surroundings in a given moment.

The choice to mask facial identity is driven by my love for mystery and my fascination with art that is open to interpretation. As you browse, I encourage you to reflect on the possibility that a person’s true means of identification extends beyond their facial features. This idea has been affirmed on multiple occasions with different people I have drawn, as they have instantly recognized themselves despite the absence of their facial identity. This has revealed to me how much our individuality is expressed through the way we carry ourselves, the moments we inhabit, and the subtle elements that resonate with us personally.

Enjoy this Myndful browsing!

Myndful Branding: A Logo Showcase
My passion for art extends to the world of logo design. As the designated designer for the Linguistics and Cognitive Science Department at Pomona College, I crafted a logo that now adorns the hallways and stickers proudly worn by faculty and students. This role allowed me to create a design that embodies the department’s essence and engages its community. Additionally, I collaborated with CRATES, a South African creative youth organization, to produce three distinctive logos for a Converse-sponsored event called NXT. These logos were embraced by creatives in art, fashion, and music across Cape Town.
